Virus Information - Top 10 Viruses, Virus Map, Virus Hoaxes

I cannot stress how very important it is that you keep your virus protection up-to-date! It is probably the MOST responsible thing that you can do once you've decided to get a computer and go online. Not only are you protecting yourself but you are protecting each of your friends and family members that you stay in contact with via your computer.

Virus protection does NOT have to be expensive! Don't go unprotected because you think you can't afford it! I've tried (and paid) for a couple different services. I don't pay anymore ;o) To make a long story short .... I use two programs that have never failed me: I'm talking about AVG from Grisoft.com. and a firewall. I use AVG and ZoneAlarm (look for the free download) together and they compliment one another very well on my system. They both have email protection and have kept me safe. I receive literally hundreds of emails daily in about 25 different accounts, all set up through OE .... and I've remained uninfected.

The program that we use at my office is Trend. I can't give you much information on it except that it works well at work and has a good reputation with corporate offices. They also provide the virus info tidbit to the right. Trend is different than most virus scanners, it's an all-in-one antivirus security, personal firewall, and PDA protection system So if you choose to check it out, you wouldn't need to have more than just the one product. I may be checking it out myself ;o)

The whole point here is: don't go unprotected because you don't think you can afford it. Virus Protection can (and should be) FREE. I liked ZoneAlarm so much that I ended up upgrading with them ... and became an affiliate to spread the word. Scumware is also harmful to your computer ... also known as spyware and sometimes spybot. However it's referred to it's sneaky and you don't want it on your computer! And unfortunately, most of it will slip by even the best antivirus programs. Be sure to visit our scumware scan to see if you're infested. You'll be given full instructions for removal if you are. And ... make sure you download Ad-aware and run it once a month or so ..... it'll keep you free from critters and spybots.
