This is a simple text to HTML converter. It will do the best it can to create URL and mailto: links, headings, lists, and paragraphs. You'll probably want to touch up the code after the conversion.

Paragraph handling:

When a paragraph is more than one line (hard wrapped) in the text to be converted:

Insert a <br> tag to force a line break at the end of each line.

Unordered lists:

Below, type the character or characters that indicate an unordered list item. (We'll call it the "flag characters")

  • If the flag characters include a number, type a # character instead of the number.
  • If one or more spaces or a tab precedes the flag characters then type a space first.
  • If the flag characters are followed by one or more spaces, type a space last.

Shall the unordered list items be separated with paragraph spacing?

When a one-line block of text is encountered that is not a list item and does not end in a period, an exclamation point, a question mark, a quote mark, a colon character, or a closing parenthesis, bracket, or brace, shall it be treated as a heading?

HTML tags for headings should be:
<H1>   <H2>   <H3>   <H4>   <H5>   <P>   none

How shall headings be aligned in relation to the rest of the text?
left   center   right   Do not force either way.

What weight shall the heading font have?
Bold   Normal   Do not force either way.
